Men’s Soccer Drops Overtime Heartbreaker 1-0 To No. 6 Macalester

In a battle to the bitter end, the Gustavus men’s soccer team nearly upset No. 6-ranked Macalester, but lost 1-0 in overtime in the first game of Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play Wednesday. The Gusties drop to 1-6-0 overall and 0-1-0 in the MIAC, while the Scots stay unbeaten at 5-0-1 and 1-0-0 in the league.

Volleyball Hosts No. 12 Bethel Tonight In Rematch Of 2015 MIAC Championship

After nine non-league games to start the season, the Gustavus volleyball team opens Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play at 7 p.m. tonight against No. 12-ranked Bethel University. The Gusties enter tonight’s match with a 7-2 overall record, while the Royals are 8-1. In the Sept. 13 AVCA Division III Poll, Bethel remained at the No. 12 spot, while the Gusties received votes but are four spots out of the top 25.

Men’s Soccer Begins MIAC Play Today Against No. 6 Macalester

After six non-league games to start the season, the Gustavus men’s soccer team opens Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play at 4 p.m. today against No. 6-ranked Macalester College at the Gustie Soccer Field. The Gusties enter today’s match with a 1-5-0 overall record, while the Scots jumped from No. 20 in the national preseason poll to No. 6 in the latest poll after starting the season 4-0-1.

Women’s Soccer Blanks Macalester 2-0

Gustavus women's soccer opened Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Play with a victory over Macalester College Tuesday. The Gusties shutout the Scots by a final score of 2-0 to record their fifth shutout on the season.

Knobbe Earns Second Consecutive Men’s Cross Country Athlete Of The Week

Thomas Knobbe continued his red-hot start to the fall season with another great performance, another victory, and another MIAC weekly honor – his second in a row. The Gustie senior finished first in a field of 67 runners consisting of the Gustavus and Saint John's teams as well as Gustie alumni. He finished the 5k course in 15:53.2, and helped his team finish with a total of 21 points to defeat the Johnnies (44) and GAC Alumni Team (67). Knobbe won the race by nearly six seconds.

Women’s Soccer To Host Second Annual Run For Kicks

Gustavus women's soccer hosts the second annual 5k "Run for Kicks" fundraiser Sunday, September 18 at 10 a.m. The race will be held at the Linneaus Arboretum on the campus of Gustavus Adolphus College.

Men’s Golf Takes Second At Frank Wrigglesworth Blugold Invite

The Gustavus men’s golf team took second place out of 16 teams at the Frank Wrigglesworth Blugold Invitational, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire on Sunday and Monday. The Gusties shot team scores of 303 on both days for a total of 606 (+34), which was 10 strokes behind the winner, UW-Eau Claire.

Nora Holtan Named MIAC Volleyball Setter Of The Week

Gustavus (7-2) won four of its five matches last week behind a big-time performance from setter Nora Holtan (So., Rochester, Minn.), who was named to the Loras All-Tournament Team for her performance. The sophomore setter finished with 203 assists (9.67 per set) and added 29 kills (.311 hitting percentage) and 35 digs in the five matches. She had at least 31 assists in each match, including a career-high 52 assists in a 3-2 win over No. 13-ranked Carthage and a 49-assist, 14-kill performance in a 3-2 victory over Wartburg. The Gusties also defeated Martin Luther (3-0) and Loras (3-0) and dropped a narrow 3-2 decision to Cornell.

Meierhenry, Women’s Golf Take Top Honors At Blugold Invitational
