BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Gustavus sophomore defensive specialist Brittany Luethmers (Prior Lake, Minn.) has been a constant on the back line for the Gusties all season long, and that trend continued last week. The sophomore libero averaged 4.86 digs per set (68 total digs) in three matches, while reaching the 1,000-dig mark in her young career with 27 digs in a five-set, come-from-behind victory over Concordia (3-2). She also had 25 digs and 11 assists in a 3-2 win over Buena Vista and 16 digs in a 3-1 MIAC win over Saint Benedict. Luethmers is just the eighth Gustie to record 1,000 digs, and isn’t even to the halfway point of her college career. Her 43 digs in the two MIAC wins helped Gustavus (20-6, 8-1 MIAC) lock up a MIAC Playoff bid.
