HASTINGS, Minn. – The Gustavus women’s golf team sits in third place after day one at the College City Challenge at Bellwood Oaks Golf Club, hosted by Carleton College. The Gusties shot a team score of 321 and sit one stroke behind Carleton and two strokes behind first place University of St. Thomas.

“Good day for the women,” said Head Coach Scott Moe. “We had a nice balanced attack which is what we knew we were capable of, so nice to see that today.

Mae Meierhenry (Sr., Sioux Falls, S.D.) led the Gusties with a solid round of 78. Morgan Bleyhl (Fy., Elk River, Minn.) finished just behind Meierhenry as she turned a score of 80.

“Mae put together another solid round and Bleyhl put up a nice 80 for our top team. Swenson also posted a 78 on our second team. We are right in the thick of it heading into tomorrow’s round,” Moe said.

The final round of the College City Challenge begins tomorrow at 9 a.m.
