DAY ONE RESULTS

SARTELL, Minn. – The Gustavus women’s golf team rests in sixth place after day one at the College of Saint Benedict Invite at Blackberry Ridge Golf Course in Sartell, Minn. Saturday. The Gusties shot a team score of 337, 49-over par.

“We grinded hard out there today. Unfortunately we counted too many doubled or tripled. I know we can clean that up tomorrow, and that will certainly help us move up the leaderboard,” said Head Coach Scott Moe.

Jessica Nelson (Jr., Plymouth, Minn.) leads the Gusties as she sits in 13th place. Nelson shot an 82, which is 10-over par. Kristen Cash (Fy., Roseville, Minn.) shot an 83, 11-over par and sits tied for 14th place. McKenzie Swenson (Jr., Buffalo, Minn.) follows Cash as she sits at 12-over par after shooting an 84.

“I saw some good things today. Jess and Kristen hit it really well. It was nice to see Kristen as a freshman put up a good number, and it can easily get better,” Moe said. “I’m excited for a quick turn around and back at it in the morning.”

Ziwi Yang of Carleton College is currently sitting in first place at two-over par after shooting a 74.

The CSB Invite will conclude play at 8 a.m. tomorrow.
