HASTINGS, Minn. – The Gustavus Adolphus College women’s golf team concluded its regular season on Sunday by finishing third at the Carleton Invite that was played at Bellwood Oaks Golf Course. The Gusties scored a 327 in the second round to finish with a 651 total, just seven strokes behind champion Carleton.
First-year Ellie Brandt and sophomore McKenzie Swenson led the way for the Gusties, as each tied for sixth place individually by scoring 160 over the course of the meet. Brandt shot even 80’s in each round, while Swenson scored a 79 in round one and an 81 in the second round.
Jessica Nelson was third for the Gusties and tied for 16th overall with a final tally of 165. Mae Meierhenry was next with a 166, good for a tie for 20th. Chloe Altmann, playing in the final round of her collegiate career, rounded out the Black and Gold scoring with a 178, tying for 44th overall.
Gustavus had a second squad competing as well, and that team was led by senior Hannah Erickson who scored 168, good for 25th place. Senior Emilie Anderson also competed with the Gustie’s second squad and scored a 172, tying for 31st.
