ST. PETER, Minn. – The Gustavus baseball team begins Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play today against Saint Mary’s at the Gustie Baseball Field. First pitch of the doubleheader is set for 2:30 p.m. The Gusties enter the games with a 7-7 overall record, while the Cardinals at 12-8 overall and 0-2 in the league.

Gustavus is most recently coming off a doubleheader sweep against Martin Luther on Monday in its home opener. The Gusties defeated the Knights 12-2 in five innings and then won the second game 9-2, claiming their fifth consecutive victory. The five-game win streak is the longest since 2011, while the program hasn’t seen a win-streak longer than five games since 2008 when it won nine straight.
