SKILLMAN, N.J. – The Gustavus Adolphus College men’s and women’s tennis teams are each ranked in the most recent Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) national polls that were released last Thursday. The men’s team is ranked 19th, while the women’s squad is 39th.
Both the men’s and women’s teams are coming off 8-1 wins against Division II competition this past Saturday. The Gustie men defeated St. Cloud State in Sartell, Minnesota to bring their overall record to 13-3, while the women took down Minnesota State, Mankato in St. Peter to improve to 10-4.
The men’s team is back in action on March 29 in San Antonio against Our Lady of the Lake, its first match of a spring trip to Texas in which it will take on three nationally-ranked squads. The women play next on April 1 in the Midwest Invite in Madison, Wisconsin, a tournament that hosts 16 of the top teams in the ITA Central Region.
