Kate Reilly took first in the 100 Free and was a member of the 400 Free relay team that took second in the final day of the MIAC Championships.

Final Results

MINNEAPOLIS – The Gustavus Adolphus College women’s swimming and diving team concluded its season with a second place finish at the MIAC Championships held over the weekend at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center. The University of St. Thomas earned the meet championship for the first time ever, snapping Gustavus’s run of six straight championships, pulling away from the competition on day three and concluding the meet with a total of 873.5 points.

The Gusties were led by Linnea Rizzo (Fy. Woodbury, Minn.) and Sydney Hallmark (Fy., Cedarburg, Wis.) who took first and second place in the 1650 Free with times of 17:43.27 and 17:46.36, respectively. First-year Haley Pesik (Eagan, Minn.) also brought home a top-five finish in the 1650 Free, taking fifth with a time of 18:00.85.

Kate Reilly (So., Hastings, Minn.) was also a meet champion, taking the 100 Free championship after crossing the finish line with a 51.49. Nicole Lohman (Jr., North Mankato, Minn.) took seventh in the same event with a 53.10.

Hayley Booher (Jr., Warren, Vt.) was also atop the Gustie swimmers on the day, taking third place with a time of 2:03.85 in the 200 Backstroke.

The Gusties’ 400 Free Relay team of Lohman, Reilly, Maggie Webster (Fy., Apple Valley, Minn.), and Leah Anderson (Sr., Apple Valley, Minn.) registered a second place finish with a time of 3:28.47.

Rounding out the Gustie scoring on the final day was Morgan Field (Sr., Albert Lea, Minn.) who took seventh in the 200 Breaststroke with a 2:30.03, and Hallmark and Michele Simms (Fy., Inver Grove Heights, Minn.) who took sixth and eighth in the 200 Butterfly with times of 2:17.45 and 2:17.58, respectively.
