Women’s Soccer Defeats St. Thomas 1-0 To Earn MIAC Playoff Title & National Tournament Bid

The Gustavus Adolphus College women’s soccer team is going dancing. Thanks to a goal from Chaselyn Miller (Fy., Brooklyn Park, Minn.) directly off a corner kick midway through the second half, the Gusties earned a 1-0 victory over the University of St. Thomas in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) Playoff Championship game on Saturday afternoon at South Field. The win clinches the first MIAC Playoff Championship for Gustavus in program history, and the Gusties also earn the MIAC’s automatic bid into the 2015 NCAA Women’s Soccer Tournament.

Football’s Last Minute Heroics Lead To 41-34 Comeback Victory Over Concordia

The Gustavus football team showed a never-say-die attitude Saturday afternoon at Hollingsworth Field as it came from behind to beat No. 23-ranked Concordia 41-34 in the final minute of play.

Men’s Hockey Falls To No. 2-Ranked UW-Stevens Point 5-1

The Gustavus men’s hockey team had a tough task Friday night in facing the No. 2 team in the nation and came out on the short end of a 5-1 final against the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. With the loss, the Gusties fall to 1-1-1 overall on the season.

Volleyball Looks To Keep Rolling, Hosts Bethel Saturday In MIAC Championship

After a convincing straight-set victory over Saint Mary’s on Thursday night in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Playoff Semifinals, the top-seeded Gustavus volleyball team is primed and ready to host No. 2-seed Bethel University for the conference championship at 7 p.m. Saturday. The Royals reached the title match with a 3-1 win over Saint Benedict.

Women’s Soccer Travels To St. Thomas Saturday For MIAC Championship

For the first time in the 13-year history of the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women’s soccer playoffs, Gustavus has reached the championship match and is set to face top-seed St. Thomas at 1 p.m. Saturday in St. Paul. The Gusties received a first round bye as the No. 2 seed and then hosted Concordia College on Wednesday, beating the Cobbers 2-0 at the Gustie Soccer Field. The Tommies reached the title match with a 2-0 victory over Augsburg.
