Men’s Tennis With Four Individuals To Play In ITA Regional Semifinals On Sunday Posted on October 3rd, 2015 by

Mohanad Alhouni will compete in both the singles and doubles semifinals on Sunday.

ST. PETER, Minn. – The Gustavus Adolphus men’s tennis team will have four of its team members participating in the USTA/ITA Midwest Regional semifinals on Sunday, and will own half of both the singles and doubles semifinals.

Sophomores Mohanad Alhouni (Tripoli, Libya) and Zach Ekstein (Eagan, Minn.) will compete against one another in one of the singles semifinals, which will begin at 9 a.m. at the Brown Outdoor Tennis Complex.

Alhouni and Ekstein will also compete in the doubles semifinals, as Alhouni will play with partner Andres Saenz (Jr., Cancun, Mexico), while Ekstein will team with fellow sophomore Tommy Entwistle (Sioux Falls, S.D.). Doubles will begin at approximately 1 p.m., or one hour following the completion of the singles championship.

Alhouni competed in the singles semifinal last year and proceeded to advance to the final, where he played against his brother Motasem ’14 and fell by a final score of 7-5, 6-4.

Saenz competed in the 2014 doubles championship with partner Motasem Alhouni and defeated Brady Anderson and Riley Galbraitha of Coe College 5-7, 6-1, 10-5 to earn a trip to the 2014 National Small College Championships in Sumter, S.C.
