RAMSEY, Minn. – The Gustavus Adolphus men’s golf team sits in a tie for second place out of 20 teams following the first round of the Twin Cities Classic, which was held at The Links at Northfolk. The Gusties scored a five-over 293, which puts them in a tie with the University of St. Thomas, but nine strokes behind tournament leader Bethel University, which shot a four-under 284.

Alec Aunan (So., Rock Island, Ill.) and Max Savini (Fy., Anoka, Minn.) led Gustavus in round one with even 72s, good for an eight-way tie for sixth place in the individual standings. Chris Captain (So., Rochester, Minn.) was next with a two-over 74, and was followed by Parker Tinsley (Jr., Bloomington, Minn.) and Matt Spier (Sr., Prior Lake, Minn.) who each shot a three-over 75, putting them in an 11-way tie for 24th place.

The Twin Cities Classic will resume tomorrow morning at Elk River Country Club with a 10:30 a.m. start time.
