Men’s Tennis To Square Off Against Carleton In MIAC Playoff Championship On Saturday Posted on May 1st, 2015 by

The Gustavus men's tennis team will face Carleton in the MIAC Playoff Championship on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. on the Brown Outdoor Courts.

St. Peter, Minn. – The Gustavus Adolphus men’s tennis team is set to battle Carleton College in the MIAC Playoff Championship on Saturday, May 2 at 1:00 p.m. on the Brown Outdoor Courts. At 18-10 overall, Gustavus heads into Saturday’s match following a 5-0 victory over St. Thomas in the semifinals on Thursday. Carleton improved to 23-2 following its 6-3 semifinal win over St. Olaf.

Since the imitation of the MIAC Men’s Tennis Playoffs in 2007, Gustavus and Carleton have met in the championship match six times. Gustavus holds the advantage in the championship at 5-1, with Carleton’s lone win coming in 2010. Since then, the Gusties have won the last two matchups with the Knights; most recently an 8-1 win in 2013. Head Coach Valentini’s squad rolls into the weekend looking for its fifth straight MIAC Playoff title and trip to the NCAA Tournament.

Live scoring will be provided for Saturday’s match. In the event of rain or inclement weather, the match will be moved indoors to the nearby Swanson Tennis Center.
