Women’s Hockey Drops To No. 5 In USCHO Poll Posted on December 10th, 2014 by

The Gustavus women's hockey team is ranked No. 5 according to the most recent USCHO.com poll.

ST. PETER, MINN. –  Following a 7-2 win and a 1-1 tie, respectively to St. Olaf College over the weekend, the Gustavus Adolphus women’s hockey team dropped to No. 5 in the most recent USCHO Division III Women’s Poll released Monday. The Gusties remained at No. 5 in the most recent D3hockey Division III Women’s Poll.

Friday, Gustavus looked to be headed for another MIAC series sweep against St. Olaf, as the Gusties took home a 7-2 victory over the Oles in Northfield, Minnesota. However, Gustavus came away with a 1-1 tie against the Oles on Saturday and saw their record move to 6-1-2 following the series.

Middlebury College replaced Gustavus at No. 4 in the USCHO poll. The Panthers only game last week was a 5-2 victory over Castleton State University. Gustavus’s opponent tonight, UW-River Falls, jumped from No. 7 to No. 6 in this week’s poll after sweeping No. 10 UW-Superior by scores of 6-2 and 4-1, respectively this past Friday and Saturday.
