Last Time Out
Gustavus:
After two hard fought periods in regulation that resulted in a 0-0 tie, the Gusties were hoping for some overtime fortune against St. Catherine that has eluded them so far this season. However, the Wildcats were able to take advantage of a timely free kick in the first overtime session that resulted in a 1-0 victory for the visiting squad.

Macalester: The Scots scored both of their goals in the first half to hold off Carleton 2-1 to snap a five-match losing streak. Hannah Walker put Macalester on the scoreboard in the game’s eighth minute when she broke away from the Knight defense to score her first goal of the season. Carleton’s Ava Lewis was able to gather a rebound off a Knight corner kick in the 41st minute to put the match at 1-1, but with just 56 seconds remaining in the opening half, Scot midfielder Ellen Brady, a senior playing in just her 25th career game, collected a rebound off a free kick and scored her first career goal, to give Macalester a 2-1 lead and eventually, a victory.

Series History
Saturday afternoon marks the 43rd meeting between Gustavus and Macalester in women’s soccer. The Scots hold the advantage in the all-time series with a record of 25-9-8. Macalester has owned the series between these two teams as of late. The Gusties have not beaten the Scots since 1995 and Gustavus has gone 0-19-1 against Macalester, a mark that included a stretch of 13 straight games from 1996 to 2006 in which the Gusties did not score a single goal on the Scots. Gustavus has also lost each of the last five meetings after the two teams played to a 1–1 tie in 2008, including last season’s 2-0 loss in St. Paul.
