Women’s Soccer Falls To Gettysburg To Finish Tournament Posted on August 30th, 2014 by

Gettysburg, Penn. –  The Gustavus Adolphus women’s socccer team was handed a loss on Saturday afternoon at Clark Field, this time at the hands of host Gettysburg College. A day after suffering an 8-0 loss to Carnegie Mellon, Gustavus was defeated 7-0 by Gettysburg to complete its run in the Gettysburg College Tournament.

Shots were again the story, as the Gusties were outshot by Gettysburg 39-1. Gustavus’s lone attempt came from Molly Johnston (Fy., Mendota Heights, Minn.) at the 81:37 mark.

Gustavus goalkeeper Caroline Olson (Sr., York, Penn.) took the loss after allowing seven goals, four in the first half, and making 14 saves in 90 minutes.

Senior Jill Baltz led the way for the Bullets with two goals.

The Gustavus women’s soccer team will be in action next when it returns to Minnesota for a home match against UW-La Crosse on Saturday, Sept. 6 at 3:00 p.m. on the Gustie Soccer Field.
