BLACK OUT! Men’s Hockey Tangles With Saint John’s In MIAC Semifinals Saturday Night Posted on February 28th, 2014 by

St. Peter, Minn. – The Gustavus Adophus men’s hockey team will face the Johnnies of Saint John’s University in the MIAC Playoff Semifinals on Saturday, March 1 at 7:05 p.m. at Don Roberts Ice Rink.  Captains Corey Leivermann (Sr., North Mankato, Minn.) and Jack Walsh (Jr., Mahtomedi, Minn.) along with the rest of the Gustavus men’s hockey team have issued a challenge to all Golden Gustie fans to wear black to Saturday’s MIAC Semfinal game in an attempt to cause a ‘Black-Out’ at Don Roberts Ice Rink.

Head Coach Brett Petersen’s club heads into the postseason with an overall record of 15-6-4.  The Gusties earned the No. 2 seed in the MIAC Playoffs after finishing second in the league standings with 38 points and a conference mark of 12-3-1.  Saint John’s captured the No. 3 seed after finishing third in the league with 29 points and conference record of 10-6-0.  The Johnnies head into the playoffs with an overall record of 16-9-0.
