St. Peter, Minn. – The Gustavus Adolphus men’s hockey team retained its No. 13 ranking in the most recent Division III Men’s Poll released Monday.  The Gusties also held on to their debut ranking of No. 15 on the Division III Top 15 Poll.

Although Gustavus took a break from MIAC play last weekend, the club was in action in its final non-conference bout of the season on Friday, Feb. 7.  The Gusties traveled to River Falls, Wis. and skated to a 2-2 tie against 11th-ranked UW-River Falls.

With last Friday’s tie, Gustavus is now unbeaten over its last seven games with a record of 6-0-1.  The No. 7 St. Thomas men’s hockey team propelled itself into first place in the MIAC standings last weekend by earning five points against Bethel.  The Tommies are now one point ahead of Gustavus with 33 points at 16-3-2 overall and 10-0-2 in the MIAC.  Gustavus has 32 points and is 13-4-4 overall and 10-1-1 in the MIAC.

Something’s gotta give this upcoming weekend when the two conference leaders square off in a home-and-home series.  On Friday, Feb. 14, the Gusties will travel to Mendota Heights for the series-opener set to begin at 7:30 p.m. On Saturday, Feb. 15, the series will come to a conclusion with a 7:05 p.m. game at Don Roberts Ice Rink.
