Men’s Basketball Aims To Get Back On Track, Hosts St. Olaf Saturday Posted on February 1st, 2014 by

St. Peter, Minn. – The Gustavus Adolphus men’s basketball team will look to get back on track after seeing its three-game winning streak snapped on Wednesday night.  The Gusties will host St. Olaf College on Saturday, Feb. 1st at 3:00 p.m., directly following the women’s game.  Gustavus enters the contest with a record of 12-6 overall and 9-4 in the MIAC, while St. Olaf posts a record of 14-4 overall and 11-2 in league play.

The Gusties are most recently coming off an 83-59 loss to Augsburg on Wednesday night in Minneapolis.  The Auggies jumped out to an early 15-3 lead and would never look back in the lopsided win, as they held a 42-24 advantage in points in the paint and outrebounded the Gusties 43-24.  St. Olaf enters the weekend on a seven-game winning streak and has won 10 of its last 11.  The last loss for the Oles was a one-point loss (63-62) to conference-leading St. Thomas on Jan. 8th.

Fans can follow all of the action on Wednesday by watching the live video or by following the live stats provided by the Gustavus sports information department.  The Gusties will also be on the radio, as Tom Wheeler will be on hand for the live call, which can be found on AM 860 KNUJ or on GameCentral.
