Men’s And Women’s Nordic Skiing Sixth In Classic At NCAA Qualifier

Coleraine, Minn. – The Gustavus Adolphus men’s and women’s nordic skiing teams placed sixth in the Classic race of their second NCAA Qualifier in as many weekends.  The men finished sixth of six teams with 41 total points, just one behind fifth place finisher UW-Green Bay.  The women finished sixth in a field of seven with 40 points.

On the men’s side, Tyler Gustafson (Jr., Grand Rapids, Minn.) led the way with a 25th place finish in a time of 29:31.5.  Scott Williams (Jr., Maple Grove, Minn.) followed in 27th with a time of 29:32.9.

For the women, Marian Lund (Sr., Duluth, Minn.) put forth another strong performance, finishing 13th in 16:44.0.  Marit Sonnesyn (So., Plymouth, Minn.) came next in 18th with a time of 17:00.6.

Both teams will compete again tomorrow in the Freestyle race in Coleraine.
