Women’s Hockey Sets Sights On Saint Mary’s This Weekend

St. Peter, Minn. – The Gustavus women’s hockey team will travel to Winona, Minn., to open a two-game series with Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) foe Saint Mary’s University on Friday, Jan. 24th.  Friday’s opening face off is set for 7:00 p.m.  The two teams will then square off at 2:00 p.m., in St. Peter on Saturday afternoon in the final game of the series.

Gustavus is most recently coming off a sweep over Augsburg last weekend and enters the weekend with a record of 10-3-2 overall and 8-0-0 in the MIAC.  The Gusties defeated the Auggies 5-2 on Friday night in Minneapolis before hanging on for a 3-2 win on Saturday afternoon in St. Peter.  Saint Mary’s split with Bethel last weekend to move to 5-9-1 overall and 3-5-0 in league play.  The Cardinals came away with a 2-1 win on Friday night in Winona before being shut out 2-0 on Saturday in Blaine, Minn.
