St. Peter, Minn. – The Gustavus men’s soccer team made its debut on the Men’s Top 25 Poll released on Tuesday, Oct. 29.  With an overall record of 11-2-1 and an MIAC mark of 8-0-0 entering the week, Gustavus ranks No. 25 and sits atop the MIAC Standings with 24 points.

It is the first week this season that Gustavus has cracked a top 25 ranking in any of the national polls.  The Gusties were last in action on Saturday, Oct. 26, defeating Augsburg by the score of 2-0 at the Gustie Soccer Field.  Gustavus heads into the final week of the regular season ranked fourth in the most recent National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) North Region Poll released today.  UW-Oshkosh (1), Wartburg (2), and Loras (3), and Carleton (5) make up the top five teams in the region.

Mike Middleton’s club will be on the pitch Tuesday afternoon when it travels to Arden Hills, Minn. for a 3:30 p.m. match against Bethel.  The Gusties will close out the 2013 regular season on Saturday, Nov. 2 when they face Hamline at 1:00 p.m. on the Gustie Soccer Field.

The Top 25 is voted on by a panel of coaches, Sports Information Directors and media members from across the country, and is published weekly. Top 25 Poll
