St. Peter, Minn. – The Gustavus Adolphus volleyball team heads back into tournament play this weekend when it travels to Eau Claire, Wis. to take part in the two-day Sandy Schumacher Memorial Tournament. The tournament will be held Friday, Oct. 11 and Saturday, Oct. 12 in the McPhee Physical Education Center.
Team’s participating in this weekend’s tournament include Augsburg College, the College of St. Scholastica, UM-Morris, the University of Northwestern, the University of St. Thomas, UW-Eau Claire, UW-La Crosse, UW-River Falls, UW-Stevens Point, and UW-Stout.
The Gusties will kick off the tournament on Friday with a 3:00 p.m. match against UW-Stevens Point and a 7:00 p.m. match against UW-Stout. Gustavus will cap the weekend on Saturday with a 10:00 a.m. match against host UW-Eau Claire and a noon match against UW-La Crosse. Gustavus will look to right the ship in Eau Claire and snap its current three-match losing-skid. The Gusties enter the weekend at 8-12 overall with a 5-7 record in their previous three two-day weekend tournaments.
