Men’s Soccer To Kick Off MIAC Season Against Carleton On Wednesday Posted on September 17th, 2013 by

St. Peter, Minn. – The Gustavus Adolphus men’s soccer team is set to kick off is MIAC schedule with a road match against Carleton College on Wednesday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. in Northfield.  The Gusties enter Wednesday’s contest with an overall record of 3-1-1, while Carleton comes in unbeaten with an overall mark of 3-0-2.

“Should be a good game on Wednesday,” said Head Coach Mike Middleton.   “If it follows the pattern of the last few games, they will be very hard to break down.  They pressure all over the pitch, but especially from the midfield and from their forward players who get behind the ball quickly and put pressure on the player on the ball. Then, they look for the mistake and counter quickly.  The defense wants to back off and not allow things behind – so, its tough to get at them.”

Live video/stats will for the match will be provided by the Carleton Sports Information Department.
