St. Peter, Minn. – The Gustavus Adolphus women’s soccer team is set to host UW-Stout on Monday, Sept. 2nd at 12:00 p.m. on the Gustie Soccer Field.  After dropping their season opener 3-0 to UW-Eau Claire on Friday, the Gusties will look for their first win of 2013 against the Blue Devils.  Meanwhile, UW-Stout scored a 3-0 shutout win over Concordia (Wis.) on Friday.

The Series

Monday’s match marks the eighth ever meeting between Gustavus and UW-Stout in women’s soccer.  Gustavus holds the advantage in the all-time series with a record of 3-2-2.  The last time these two teams met was last season on October 10th in Menomonie, Wis. where the Blue Devils came away with a 2-1 win.  Gustavus got out to a 1-0 lead heading into halftime, but the Blue Devils came back to tie the game up 15 minutes into the second half.  UW-Stout then scored the go ahead goal in the 70th minute which proved to be enough for the 2-1 win.
