First-year Sidney Dirks won both of her singles matches on Saturday.
St. Peter, Minn. – The Gustavus Adolphus women’s tennis team opened its 2013 MIAC schedule with a 9-0 win over Hamline and a 6-3 loss to St. Catherine on Saturday at the Swanson Tennis Center. The Gusties move to 3-1 (1-1 MIAC) on the season.
The Gusties suffered their first loss of the season after opening the year with a record of 3-0. It is just the second regular season loss to an MIAC opponent since the 1991 season. The only other loss in that time came to Carleton last season, which capped off an MIAC regular season record of 9-1.
Gustavus will next be in action on Saturday, March 23rd when it hosts Minnesota State University, Mankato and Upper Iowa University at the Swanson Tennis Center.
