Erica Roelofs In Second After Day One Of MIAC Hepthathlon

Erica Roelofs is in second place in the MIAC Heptathlon after day one.

Northfield, Minn. – After the opening day of the MIAC Heptathlon, Gustavus Adolphus senior track and field athlete Erica Roelofs (Vernon Center, Minn.) is in second place after totaling 2,494 points. Kaari Jensen of Concordia leads the field with 2,819 points, and Mandy Witschen of Saint Benedict is in third with 2,427 points.

Roelofs tallied four finishes inside the top-5 on day one.  The senior’s top performance of the afternoon came in shot put where she took first with a throw of 35-0.  She also cracked the top-3 with a third place mark in the 200-meter dash after crossing the finish line in 26.88.  Roelofs’ day was rounded out by a pair of fourth place finishes in the 100-meter dash (16.54) and high jump (4-9.75).
