Field Athlete of the Week Ally Voss

Gustavus Adolphus women’s track and field athlete Allyson Voss (Wausau, Wis.) has been named the MIAC Women’s Field Athlete-of-the-Week for her outstanding performance in Saturday’s 12th Annual Drake Alternative held in St. Peter, Minn.

Ally Voss continued her already impressive spring season with a first place finish in the pole vault on Saturday.  Voss cleared a season-best 12’ 4” to win the pole vault against crew of Division I, II and III competition by over a foot.  Her mark on Saturday is currently the top height registered in the MIAC this season.  Voss is also now tied for seventh in all of Division III in the pole vault.

The Wausau, Wis. native is the second-straight Gustavus track and field athlete to be named MIAC Field Athlete-of-the-Week.  The junior follows Erica Roelofs who was bestowed the honor last week for her performance at the Warrior Invite.

The Gustavus track and field team will be back on the track for its final regular season meet on May 5-6 when it takes part in the Meet of the UnSaintly held at Hamline University in St. Paul.  The conference championships will be held the following weekend at Concordia College in Moorhead, with the two-day event running May 11-12.
