WHITE OUT! Men’s Hockey Faces St. Olaf In MIAC Championship This Saturday Posted on March 2nd, 2012 by

Gustavus' Ryan Johnson faces off against Peter Rohn in the last meeting between the two squads.

The Gustavus men’s hockey team is set to take on St. Olaf College in the MIAC Playoff Championship game on Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. in Don Roberts Ice Rink.  Head Coach Brett Petersen, senior captain Ross Ring-Jarvi, and the rest of the Gustavus men’s hockey team have issued a challenge to all Golden Gustie fans to wear white to Saturday’s MIAC Championship game in an attempt to cause a ‘White-Out’ at Don Roberts Ice Rink.

No. 2 seed Gustavus earned a berth into Saturday’s championship after defeating Saint John’s 3-1 on Saturday, Feb. 25 in St. Peter.  No. 4 seed St. Olaf enters Saturday’s title bout with perhaps the most momentum of any team in the country.  The Oles are most recently coming off 4-3 upset victory over 2011-12 MIAC Champion and No. 1 seed St. Thomas on Saturday, Feb. 25 in Mendota Heights.  Gustavus enters the game ranked No. 11 in the nation at 15-6-5 overall, while St. Olaf comes in at 13-8-6 overall.

At stake on Saturday night, an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.
