Amrik Donkena
Gustavus sophomore tennis player Amrik Donkena has been selected to play in the 2011 NCAA Tennis Championships singles draw, which begins on Friday in Claremont, California. Donkena, who was originally listed as an alternate, was notified on Wednesday that he had been selected to play due to an injury to another one of the singles players in the NCAA Team Championship. This will be the second consecutive year that Donkena, a Rochester, Minn. native, has participated in the NCAA Championships. Donkena, who enters the national tournament with an overall record of 17-12, will face Andrew Giuffrida of California Lutheran University on Friday, May 27 at 1:00 pm (CDT).
