Softball Player Emily Wendorff Named Academic All-District Posted on May 12th, 2011 by

Gustavus Adolphus senior softball player Emily Wendorff (Lakeville, Minn.) has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District Softball Team, earning a spot on District Five’s Third team.  Wendorff is a senior first baseman with a 3.65 GPA as a psychology and history double major.  She is one of just four players from the MIAC to be named Academic All-District this season.

Wendorff started in 41 games this season, helping the Gusties to a 27-14-1 overall record and a second place MIAC finish with a mark of 20-3-1.  The Lakeville, Minn. native led the team in at bats (119), hitting .361 with 43 hits.  She recorded four doubles, a triple and four home runs, while notching 21 RBI.  Wendorff finished the year with a team-high .990 fielding percentage with a league-high 294 putouts and just three errors.  The senior was also named to the MIAC All-Tournament Team following the MIAC Playoffs.  Wendorff is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, the Wellness Advisory Board, and is a volunteer for Pound Pals through Gustavus.
