Men’s Tennis Falls To #18 DePauw 6-3 Posted on February 27th, 2011 by

The Gustavus men’s tennis team lost to #18 DePauw University 6-3 in a match that was played in Pleasantville, Wis. (a suburb of Milwaukee) on Sunday morning.  Gustavus is now 5-4 overall.

The Gusties three points came from the #1 doubles team of Amrik Donkena and Patrick Clark, #5 singles player Daniel Pomeranc and #6 singles player Joe MacGibbon.

Gustavus will play two conference matches on the road next Saturday including Bethel in Arden Hills at 9 am and St. Thomas in St. Paul at 7:30 pm.

1. Michael Rardon (DePauw) defeated Amrik Donkena 6-4, 7-6 (8-6)
2. Sam Miles (DePauw) defeated Patrick Clark (Gustavus) 6-2, 6-1
3. Hunter Schouweiler (DePauw) defeated Tyler Johnson (Gustavus) 7-5, 6-2
4. Noah Swiler (DePauw) defeated Marcel Gyswyt (Gustavus) 6-3, 6-3
5. Daniel Pomeranc (Gustavus defeated Eric Hubbard (DePauw) 7-6 (7-1), 0-6, 10-8
6. Joe MacGibbon (Gustavus) defeated Reid Garlock (DePauw) 6-4 6-3

Doubles
1. Donkena/Clark (Gustavus) defeated Swiler/Andrew Kahn (DePauw) 8-3
2. Miles/Ben Kopecky (DePauw) defeated Johnson/MacGibbon (Gustavus) 8-3
3. Garlock/David Moss (DePauw) defeated Pomeranc/Juan Luis Chu (Gustavus) 8-6
