The Gustavus men’s and women’s nordic ski teams concluded competition at the U.S. Ski Association Michigan Tech Super Tour on Sunday in Houghton, Mich. with a trio of promising performances as the team prepares for the upcoming Central Collegiate Ski Association Championships. The Gusties wrapped up the two-day long NCAA Qualifier with Jens Brabbit sitting out for the second consecutive day.

Erica Hett and Marian Lund teamed up to blaze the trail for Gustavus in the 10k freestyle, with only duos from Michigan Tech and Northern Michigan topping the pair of Gustie skiers in the seven team field. Hett secured 16th place with a time of 35:21.5 while Lund finished on her heels in 17th with a time of 35:38.5.

With Brabbit sidelined again due to sickness, Zach Wagner skied the 15k freestyle course as the lone representative of the Gustie men’s team at the meet. Wagner turned in a 31st place performance in a time of 47:45.9.

The Gusties will have the upcoming weekend off as they prepare for the CCSA Championships on February 12-13 in Marquette, Mich.
