Gustavus Adolphus sophomore swimmer Sarah Hund has been named MIAC Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week for her efforts against St. Cloud State University last Saturday in St. Peter, Minn. The Gusties fell to the Huskies 209-91, yet Hund turned in an outstanding individual performance in Gustavus’s first scored dual meet of the season.
Hund, a native of Willmar, Minn., turned in one event win and a second place finish individually, while contributing solid swims in the 400-free relay and 200-medley relay. She won the 100 freestyle with a time of 54.43 and took second in the 50 freestyle with a time of 24.84. Hund was the third leg of the first place 400-free relay team (3:38.77), while swimming on the fourth place 200-medley free relay team (1:55.57). Her relay splits were 24.3 in the 200-free relay and 54.01 in the 400-free relay. She currently holds the fastest recorded MIAC times in the 100 and 50 freestyle, and 400-free relay this season.
The Gustavus swimming and diving team will take part in the St. Catherine’s Invite on Friday, Nov. 12 at 6:00 p.m. in St. Paul.
