The Gustavus women’s cross country finished fourth in a hotly contested battle for the top five spots at the MIAC Cross Country Championships on Saturday at Como Park Golf Course in St. Paul. St. Olaf claimed the team title with 53 points, however the next four positions were decided by a total of six points with St. Thomas finishing second with 89 points, Carleton placed third with 92, Gustavus fourth with 93, and Bethel fifth with 95. Kate Eggers was the top Gustavus finisher as she crossed the finish line in seventh place with a time of 22:56.2.
Joining Eggers in the top seven were Kim Rostvold (11th, 23:10.8), Elizabeth Hauer (13th, 23:15.6), Megan Lundgren (29th, 24:07.2), Danielle Burgmeier (33rd, 24:20.8), Erica Hett (49th, 24:36.5), and Laura Secor (50th, 24:39.4).
The top 15 finishers receive All-Conference honors and three Gustavus runners earned All-Conference recognition including Kate Eggers (7th), Kim Rostvold (11th), and Elizabeth Hauer (13th). It is the first time since 2005 that three Gustavus runners have received All-Conference honors.
