The Gustauvs women’s golf team shot a team score 329 in the second day of competition to finish runner-up with a two day total of 665 (+85) at the Georgianni Memorial Invite held in Eau Claire, Wis. on Saturday and Sunday. UW-Eau Claire came in first place with a two-day total of 645 (+65) after shooting a team score of 327 in day two. UW-Whitewater rounded out the top three in third place with a total score of 688 (+108).
Gustavus junior Katie Schenfeld was crowned the individual champion of the event after shooting a 77 on day two for a total 157 (+12). UW-Eau Claire’s Sara Mattes came in second with a 158 (+13), while Kathryn Hauff of Saint Benedict came in third place with a 161 (+16).
Gustie Ann Jackson also cracked the top ten, finishing in a four-way tie for seventh place after shooting a 77 in day two for a total of 165 (+20). Kayleigh Dittes shot an 85 in day two, bringing her total to 170 (+25) and finishing is 15th place. Taylor Drenttel made it into the top 20 with a two day total of 173 (+28).
The Georgianni Memorial Invite featured 114 players from 21 teams. Day two of competition was held at the Wild Ridge Golf Course, a Par 73, 6044 yards in Eau Claire, Wis.
