The Gustavus women’s golf team turned in a very strong round in difficult conditions and leads the UW-Eau Claire Invitational by 18 strokes over host UW-Eau Claire. The Gusties, who fired a team score of 312, posted five of the top six individual scores of the day. Kali Griggs and Kate Schenfeld are tied for first with first round scores of 77.
Other top scores for Gustavus included Taylor Drenttel and Rikka Holiday at 78 and Ann Jackson at 80.
The tournament, which is being played at Wild Ridge Golf Club in Eau Claire will conclude with 18 holes on Sunday. Play will begin at 8 am.
