Men’s Golf Finishes Second At Bobby Krig Invitational Posted on April 19th, 2010 by

A.J. Olson fired a career best 54-hole total of 215.

The Gustavus men’s golf team fired a 54-hole total of 302-293-290–885 and finished second out of 13 teams at its own Bobby Krig Invitational which wrapped up with 36-holes of play at Le Sueur Country Club on Monday afternoon. Saint John’s finished first with score of 296-287-288–871.  The Gusties A.J. Olson finished second individually with a total of 74-69-72–215 (-1).

Gustavus head coach Scott Moe placed two teams in the tournament with the Gold team finishing second with a 54-hole total of 302-293-290–885, while the Black team placed tenth with a total of 304-313-309-926.

The Gustavus Gold team was led by Olson’s second place individual finish. Olson was followed by Saul Menendez who placed seventh at 75-73-72–220, Trevor Gervais who placed 17th at 78-75-73–226, and Josh Curb who placed 20th at 75-76-77–228.

A.J. Olson’s second round score of 69 tied his career best 18-hole round, while his 54-hole total of 215 was the best of his career.

The Gustavus Black team was led by Alex Pederson who placed 23rd with a total of 76-75-78–229.  Pederson was followed by Derek Hilding who tied for 29th at 75-79-78–232, Coby Rowley who tied for 29th at 73-81-78–232, Ben Bauknecht who tied for 46th at 80-83-75–238, and Alex Woodhull who tied for 55th at 86-78-78–242.
