The Gustavus baseball team saw its four-game win streak come to an end with an 8-7 loss to Williams College in a nine-inning game in Phoenix, Arizona on Monday afternoon.  The Gusties scored one run in the top of the ninth inning to take a 7-4 lead, but Williams rallied to score four times in the bottom of the ninth to claim the come-from-behind win.  Gustavus is now 5-4 overall on the season.

Andrew Woitas pitched eight and two-thirds innings scattering 13 hits, allowing seven earned runs, while striking out two and walking one.  Tori Herman relieved Woitas facing three batters, giving up two singles.  He suffered the loss on the mound.

The Gusties scored scored two runs in the first inning, three in the third inning, and one run in both the eighth and ninth innings.

Kevin Roth gave the Gusties a 5-2 lead when the drove in two runs with a triple in the third inning.  Five different players registered two hits including Alan Woitas, Tim Miller, Tori Herman, Taylor Fish, and Cody Sukalski.

The Gusties will play Elmhurst in a nine-inning game on Tuesday at 11 am (CDT).
