Gustavus Adolphus junior Kelly Mathewson and first year Danielle Thibodeau returned home from competition at the 2010 NCGA Championships held in Blake Arena on the campus of Sprinfield College in Springfield, Mass. on March 26-27.
Mathewson competed on the uneven parallel bars, as Thibodeau competed on the floor exercise and vault. In day one of competition, Mathewson finished tied for 30th overall with a mark of 8.850, while Thibodeau tied for 20th on the vault with a score of 9.425 and 40th on the floor with a score of 9.150. Neither Mathewson or Thibodeau made the cut to perform in the second day of competition.
UW-La Crosse won the 2010 NCGA Championship with a team score of 186.775. Brockport placed second (186.200), while Cortland took third (184.750).
Individual event champions included UW-Whitewater’s Justine Weyer on the vault (9.700), UW-Stout’s Meghan Hargens on the bars (9.650), Ursinus College’s Kira Oldham-Curtis on the beam (9.625), and UW-La Crosse’s Gaby Hooper on the floor (9.725).
