Gustavus Adolphus junior Jens Brabbit has been named All-Central Collegiate Ski Association (CCSA) First Team this week. Brabbit is the first Gustavus skier to ever be bestowed All-CCSA First team honors, as he has ranked in the top five over the course of the first four qualifying weekends. He is the only skier from a Division III school to be honored as first or second team All-Conference.
With another solid weekend at the Regional Championships in Houghton, Mich., Brabbit can qualify for NCAA Championships. The top eight male skiers qualify for the NCAA Championships based on points gained throughout the entire season. Brabbit most recently finished fourth in the freestyle and ninth in the classic at the CCSA Ski Championships held in Ishpeming, Mich. Brabbit’s other top performances include a fourth place finish in the freestyle at the NCAA qualifier #2 in Cable, Wisc., and a sixth place finish in the classic at the NCAA qualifier #3 in Minneapolis, Minn.
The Gustavus men’s nordic ski team will compete at the NCAA Central Region Championships on Feb. 20-21, in Houghton, Mich.

Way to go Gustavus! Congratulations to the school and to Jens . I look forward to more great skiers to come out of a Divison III school to make CCSA all conference and make Team 1 or team 2. Congratulations to coach Jed who believed in Jens and made his dream come True. Determination and hard work will make Gustavus a team to watch in the coming years. A great season for the coach and to the gustavus nordic ski team.
