Women’s Hockey Defeats UW-Stevens Point 2-0

The Gustavus women’s hockey team got back on the winning track with a solid 2-0 win over UW-Stevens P0int in Stevens Point on Saturday afternoon. TheGusties got second period goals Tam Meuwissen and Mollie Carroll and that is all they would need to claim the important victory.

The Gustavus women’s hockey team got back on the winning track with a solid 2-0 win over UW-Stevens P0int in Stevens Point on Saturday afternoon.  The Gusties got second period goals Tam Meuwissen and Mollie Carroll and that is all they would need to claim the important victory.

Danielle Justice picked up the win in the nets as she registered 23 saves and posted her second shutout of the season.

Meuwissen’s goal, which turned out to be the game-winner, was a power play goal at 6:59 of the second period and then Mollie Carroll gave the Gusties some breathing room as increased the lead to 2-0 at the 11:53 mark.

The Gusties will continue non-conference play with a home matchup against UW-River Falls on Tuesday night at 7:30 pm. Gustavus tied UW-River Falls 3-3 in the first meeting on Nov. 13.
