Gustavus Adolphus College senior defender Alison Dittmer was named National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division III All-North Region Third Team on Wednesday.  Dittmer is one of 12 players from the MIAC to recieve All-Region honors.

Dittmer has been Gustavus’s most consistent defender over the past four years, starting in every match but one.  This past season, Dittmer was apart of a defensive unit that allowed an average of just 1.00 goals per game, while posting eight shutouts.  In her four years of competition, the Gustavus women’s soccer team has given up an average of just 1.168 goals per game.

The honor of being named All-Region is the most recent award among the list of accolades Dittmer has achieved over her career at Gustavus. In early November she was named CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Women’s Soccer First Team for the second consecutive year.  She was also named Academic All-Conference in 2007 and 2008, while receiving All-Conference Honorable Mention honors in 2008 and 2009.

Dittmer was a four year starter as an outside back for the Gusties, playing in every game but one.
