Women’s Soccer Wraps Up Season With 2-0 Setback To Augsburg Posted on November 1st, 2009 by

The Gustavus women’s soccer team saw its season come to a close with a 2-0 loss to Augsburg on Saturday evening in Minneapolis.  The Gusties finished their season with a mark of 7-8-3 overall and 3-7-1 in the MIAC.

The two teams battled to a scoreless draw in the first 45 minutes, but Augsburg took a 1-0 lead when Whitney Holman scored on a free kick from 36 yards out in the 59th minute.  Late in the match, Augsburg increased its lead to 2-0 when Kelsey Sorenson scored with an assist Courtney Gamrath in the 85th minute.

Chelsea Bayer suffered the loss in the nets for Gustavus. She allowed both goals and made four saves.
