The Gustavus women’s soccer team lost a conference match to St. Benedict on Saturday afternoon by the score of 3-0. The Gusties fall to 5-3-1 overall and 1-2-0 in the MIAC.

The Blazers scored twice in the first half on goals by Olivia Wee in the 26th minute and Heather Beshears in the 44th minute. Saint Ben’s closed out the scoring in the 85th minute on Beshears’ second goal of the match.

The Gusties struggled to get much going in the way of an attack during the 90 minutes as they registered eight shots compared to 19 for the Blazers. Chelsea Bayer recorded eight saves in the nets for Gustavus.

Coach Mike Stehlik’s squad will continue conference play with a match at home against Saint Mary’s on Wednesday at 4 pm.
