Head Coach Mike Stehlik welcomed 30 players to campus on Tuesday, August 18 to begin pre-season practices for the 2009 season. The Gusties open regular season play with a contest at the University of Minnesota-Morris on Tuesday, Sept. 1 at 2 pm. Stehlik will build his squad around 14 letterwinners including honorable mention All-Conference defenders Rachel Iblings and Alison Dittmer.
Other returning letterwinners include junior forward Ashley Anderson, junior goalkeeper Chelsea Bayer, junior midfielder Mackenzie Del Santro, junior midfielder Meghan Faricy, senior defender Megan Gode, senior midfielder Becca Hagen, junior defender Abbey Maus, junior midfielder Karen Maus, senior midfielder Kirsten Thulien, junior midfielder Nicole Kwapick, sophomore forward Meghan McMillan, and junior defender Ana Norrell.
The Gusties posted a record of 7-8-3 overall last season and finished eighth in the MIAC with a mark of 4-5-2.
