The Gustavus softball team wrapped up regular season play with a disappointing split with St. Scholastica in a doubleheader that was played at Jane Sage Cowles Stadium on the campus on of the University of Minnesota on Monday afternoon. The Gusties lost game one 4-3 and then bounced back to win game two 9-0. With the win in the second game, Gustavus picked up its 33rd win of the season which sets a new school record for wins in a season. The Gusties, who are now 33-5 overall, will play Bethel in the MIAC Post-Season Tournament on Friday in Winona.

In the first game, Gustavus scored once in the third inning and twice in the sixth inning. The Gusties led 3-2 in the sixth inning, however St. Scholastica scored twice in the bottom of the sixth and held on for the 4-3 victory. Betsie Collins pitched five innings and then Callie Nelsen came in and pitched the final two innings. Nelsen allowed the two runs in the bottom of the sixth and was credited with the loss. Dani Cattrysse and Jenna Johnson each recorded two hits in the game.

In the second game, the Gusties scored twice in the first inning, five times in the fourth inning, and two more in the fifth inning. Gustavus pounded out 11 hits in the five inning victory. Erin Truebenbach picked up the win on the mound for the Gusties. She scattered three hits and allowed one earned run.
