Softball Team Edges Taylor University 4-2, Improves To 11-3 On The Season

The Gustavus softball team wrapped up its Spring Break trip to Tucson, Arizona with a 4-2 win over Taylor University (Ind.) on Wednesday morning. Emily Klein, Rachael Click, and Emily Wendorff each picked up two hits to lead the Gusties. Betsy Collins was the starting pitcher. She threw four innings allowing seven hits and two runs and earned the win. Erin Truebenbach pitched the final three innings scattering three hits and striking out six.

Track And Field Team Will Not Compete In Bronco Relays

Due to inclement weather, the Gustavus men's and women's track and field teams will not be competing in the Bronco Relays hosted by Hastings College on Saturday. Meet officials postponed the competition to Sunday due to weather conditions, which will not allow the Gusties to compete at the meet. The first outdoor track and field meet of the season will be Saturday, April 4 at the Central Invitational in Pella, Iowa.

Men’s Tennis Loses To Williams 7-2

The Gustavus men's tennis team suffered a 7-2 loss to Williams College in Claremont, Calif. on Tuesday. It was the second loss for the Gusties to a Division III opponent this season. Gustavus is currently ranked #7 in the latest ITA Division III poll, while Williams is ranked #5. The Gusties are now 17-5 on the season.

Women’s Tennis Opens Spring Break Trip With 5-4 Loss To Redlands

The Gustavus women's tennis team dropped the first match of its Spring Break trip to Southern California losing a heartbreaker to the University of Redlands by the score of 5-4. The Gusties led 2-1 after doubles, but lost four of six singles matches to allow the Bulldogs to escape with the 5-4 victory. The Gusties will face Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Wednesday at 7 pm (CDT).

Baseball Sweeps Williams, Loses Twice To Southern Maine

The Gustavus baseball team swept Williams College 14-12 in nine innings and 9-6 late Monday night before losing to Southern Maine 17-8 and 10-2 on Tuesday in Chandler, Ariz. The Gusties needed late inning rallies in both games to defeat the Ephs, but were unable to keep the offense going against the 10th-ranked Huskies. Gustavus is now 6-8 overall and will wrap up its Spring Break trip against Oberlin College on Wednesday.

Softball Team Loses to Pacific, Defeats Buena Vista At Tucson Invitational

The Gustavus softball team split two games in Tucson, Arizona on Tuesday. The Gusties lost to Pacific University (Oregon) 7-3 and then defeated Buena Vista University (Storm Lake, Iowa) 7-1. The Gusties are now 10-3 on the season. They will wrap up their Spring Break trip tomorrow with a game against Taylor University (Indiana).

Men’s Tennis Defeats Pomona-Pitzer 8-1

The Gustavus men's tennis team kicked off its spring break trip with an 8-1 win over Pomona-Pitzer Colleges in Pomona, Calif. on Monday afternoon. The Gusties improved to 17-4 overall with the victory. Gustavus, which is ranked seventh in the most recent Intercollegiate Tennis Assocation poll, will face fifth-ranked Williams College on Tuesday afternoon.

Women’s Golf Finishes Fourth At Jekyll Island Invitational

The Gustavus women's golf team opened its Spring season with a fourth place finish out of 22 teams at the Jekyll Island Invitational in Jekyll Island, Georgia. The Gusties were led by Kali Griggs who finished fourth individually with a 54-hole total of 84-79-81--244. Coach Scott Moe and his team will spend the rest of Spring Break practicing in Florida. The team's next tournament will be April 4-5 at the Wartburg Invitational in Waverly, Iowa.

Men’s Golf Opens Spring Season With 18th Place Finish At Jekyll Island Invitational

The Gustavus men's golf team opened its Spring season with a 18th place finish out of 27 teams at the Jekyll Island Invitational in Jekyll Island, Georgia. Ricky Copeland was the top men's finisher. He placed 67th with a total of 79-79-77--235. The Gusties will spend the rest of the week practicing in Florida and then return to action at the Illinois Wesleyan Invitational in Bloomington, Illinois on April 3-4.

Men’s Swimming Places 15th, Women’s Swimming Team Finishes 35th At NCAA Championships

The Gustavus men's and women's swimming teams made their final day at the NCAA Championships one to remember. For the men, Skylar and Whitaker Davis finished 8th and 11th respectively in the 1650 freestyle. For the women, Carrie Gundersen placed 9th in the 1650 freestyle and Anika Erickson finished 16th in the 200 breaststroke. The Gustie men finished 15th with 71 points, while the women placed 35th with 17 points.
