Gustavus Adolphus College junior Skylar Davis (Palatine, Ill.) has been named the MIAC Swimmer of the Week for his efforts last weekend in Stevens Point, Wis. Davis recorded two individual first place finishes and one first place finish on a relay to help the Gusties finish second out of six teams at the Get To The Point Invitational hosted by the University of Wisconsin at Stevens Point. Davis won the 1650 freestyle in a time of 16:38.52 and the 400 IM in 4:19.42. He was also a member of the winning 800 freestyle relay team that finished in 7:08.95. Davis added a second place finish in the 500 freestyle, finishing in 4:46.91.
Davis currently holds the top times this season in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in both the 1,000 freestyle (9:43.96) and the 1,650 freestyle (16:09.73), and he ranks second in the 500 freestyle (4:40.15). He is the two-time defending MIAC Champion in the 1,650 freestyle and he currently holds the MIAC record in the 1,650 free with a time of 15:51.23.
