Men’s Swimming Finishes Second At Falcon Invitational

The Gustavus men’s swimming team finished second out of nine teams in the red division at the Falcon Invitational hosted by the University of Wisconsin at River Falls and held at the University of Minnesota Aquatics Center in Minneapolis on Saturday. The Gusties recorded 539 points behind Luther College, which tallied 788 points.

Josh Seaburg turned in two top-three finishes, including a first-place finish in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:19.90. In addition to winning the 400-yard individual medley, Seaburg touched the wall third in the 200-yard butterfly in 2:00.83.

Other top finishes for the Gusties included Kevin Horn placing third in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:02.76, John Rice finishing fourth in the 1650-yard freestyle in 17:23.93, and Gunnar Teigen taking fifth place in the 200-yard backstroke by touching the wall in 2:04.66.

Meet participants included Gustavus, Luther, St. Thomas, Saint John’s, UW-Whitewater, UW-Eau Claire, UW-River Falls, Grinnell, and Carroll.

Gustavus will travel to Florida Atlantic University over the holidays for training from December 27-January 4 before returning to competition Saturday, January 10 at the Saint John’s Invitational.
