Gustavus women’s hockey player Jessie Doig, a senior from New Prague, Minn., has been selected by the NCAA to blog for NCAA.com. Doig is one of a select few athletes from Division I, II, and III to give an account of her experiences as a student-athlete. Her blog started last week and will run through the entire season. She plans to blog twice a week.

A three-year letterwinner as a forward on the Gustavus women’s hockey team, Doig is a an English major who hopes to pursue a career in broadcast journalism. She has interned for KEYC Television in Mankato, Minn., and worked for the sports information office at Gustavus for the past two years. On the ice, Doig has played in 83 of a possible 85 games in her career, scoring 28 goals and registering 30 assists for 58 career points. She has been a key part of teams that have compiled a mark of 69-11-2 overall and 52-1-1 in conference play over the past three seasons. Those teams have won three MIAC titles and made three NCAA Tournament appearances.
